In October of 2023, I took a trip to Vermont to visit my mother. The leaves had just begun changing and as a native Floridian, this was my first time experiencing it. Truly incredible. I stayed at a cute and cozy bed and breakfast and this was on their property. Shout-out to the Inn at Buckhollow Farm!
Would you believe me if I told you this was captured in a car? We were driving slowly through Yosemite taking in the wondrous sights when all of a sudden, a family of deer made their presence known. Graciously they allowed me to take a few quick photos before carrying on their way. This moment felt surreal. Like time had stopped and there was nothing but me and him. Truly remarkable creatures.
Mill Creek Farm in Alachua, Florida. 2020. Weeks before the Corona Virus put all of our lives on hold.
Waking up in the early and still morning, I went for a hike on a trail near my home. These two images were the result. The drops stuck to blades of grass and a spider web before they were disturbed. Before the hustle and bustle of nature.
These were taken in or around Jacksonville Florida
In film photography, sometimes a happy little accident can occur. “First of the roll” happens when a part of the frame is exposed to light when the film is loaded and the rest of the frame was not. I quite enjoy these imperfections. What side are you on? Do you enjoy them or try everything to prevent it?
